FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
To book your session, a $100 non-refundable deposit must be paid with the balance due by the session date. Session fees do not include tax. I accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards.
I’m a natural light photographer. I do not have a studio. I can do natural light portraits on location, or occasionally in your home or mine if the situation calls for it. I have several places I love to photograph and I’m always open to exploring new places or your own suggestions. I love natural surroundings. I’m located in Sedro Woolley, and will glady travel to Mt. Vernon, Burlington, or Bellingham. Locations farther than that may incur a small travel fee. Typically $25-75 depending on how far you want me to travel.
It’s Washington. It rains. And it can be totally unpredictable. I personally don’t mind shooting in the rain, and sometimes a location change can make it work out fine. If you don’t want to shoot in the rain I’m more then happy to reschedule. I allow one reschedule due to illness except for special events like mini sessions.
If you have to cancel your portrait session for any reason, please give me at least 48 hours notice. I wait for 15 minutes after the scheduled session time, which may decrease the available shooting time for the session. In case of cancelations and no-shows, the $100 non-refundable retainer is forfeit.
Yes, I have photoshop, and yes I know how to use it. I tend to be on the conservative side of editing, removing light acne and blemishes, random stray hairs, etc. If you would like more extensive retouching done please let me know ahead of time. Or in the case of birthmarks, scars, scrapes, bruises or severe acne, please let me know at the session if you would like them to be left in the portraits, removed, or just lightened (depending on the extent this may incur additional costs). Head swaps are possible but I charge extra, price depending on difficulty.
After the session it takes approximately 2-3 weeks for the gallery turn around. You will receive a link to your gallery via email.
As a photographer I own the copywrite on all photos I take, and they are protected under federal copywrite laws. When you purchase digital files I provide you with a print release that will allow you to make prints from the files I give you, and a list of recommended printing labs. I do not allow my files to be edited, altered, scanned, or copied in any way. If you have any changes you would like to be made, please contact me.
Always backup your files. I keep your images files on an external hard drive, a physical copy, as well as backed up off site. Every six months I put the files in deep storage, and if you want me to access them after that point there will be a web-gallery activation fee of $50. I store files indefinitely.
